Discovering the wonderful secrets hidden in this forest means finding a wildlife sanctuary; the high density of biodiversity makes our trails a unique place for observing species spotted along the way.
When going on the self-guided tour, pay special attention to the different layers of the rainforest, from the treetops, the understory and the forest floor; this way you will be able to appreciate many of the species housed by this spectacular biological corridor.
Our family of 4 visited Hanging Bridges on October 13, 2020 and did the self-guided tour. We appeared to be the only ones in the park that morning due presumably to reduced tourism because of COVID-19. Needless to say, having the entire place to ourselves was pretty amazing. We purchased our tickets in advance online and after washing our hands (Costa Rica COVID protocols are particularly good) were introduced to the park / trails by the very nice person at the reception desk. We were then on our way exploring the trails and well-manicured grounds. All-in-all we spent about 1.5-2 hours walking the roughly 3.1kms. Our family including young kids had a blast exploring the rainforest, crossing the bridges and even were lucky enough to see some spider monkeys. It was a fantastic place and definitely worth the price of admission, especially since kids were free. One tip, if you are also going to visit La Fortuna Waterfall look to see if there is a combined package (we missed out on one after realizing after already buying standalone tickets). Highly recommend if you are in the La Fortuna area!
Very well maintained park with good focus on sustainability. Nice bathroom facilities and very friendly staff. Would definitely come again!

Fun walk through the forest and hanging bridges
Staff was friendly and hospitable. Went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Views were gorgeous! Trail well kept.
This is a lovely park, even for a casual stroll without a guide. The bridges are exciting and having a restaurant available at the end of the journey was a great finishing touch!
I uttered the word “wow” more times on this day in Mistico than I have in 5 months of living in Costa Rica. Wonderful, beautiful, healthy, spectacular.

Very enjoyable time. Easy to follow, well made trail. We saw more wildlife than anticipated. Good food at the cafe. Definitely recommend Mistico!
